just the four of us...

thanksgiving dinners 2009

1) we had our church friends come over the saturday before and we had a huge thanksgiving potluck. there were two deep fried turkeys and many, many sides and desserts!! we were stuffed out of our minds!

2)the monday before, we had a wonderful thanksgiving dinner with my in-laws. we sat around a big table and had the best vegetarian thanksgiving dinner ever. the veggie turky was really really delish!!

3)so on the actual T-day, we decided to do something a little off tradition and just keep it the four of us. because we only had to impress a 3 and a 4 year old, the cool thing was we were able to go ghetto style and make everything from a box. hehe we even tricked them by baking a chicken instead of a turkey! hahaha

we joined the JUNIOR HIGH girls at our church!

i failed.

i noticed a few brown spots on N's teeth so i finally was able to convince the boys to go see a "little kid's" dentist. guess what uncle eddie/peds dentist found????? N (6 cavities!!!) + J (3 cavities!) = FAILURE MOM!!!! i was sooooo surprised/embarassed/shocked/ashamed/sad!!! uncle eddie's office had TVs on the ceilings with headphones and this cool laughing gas to help calm J down. =) also, uncle eddie was funny, fast, and very age appropriate!  shots, numbing, drilling, filling...the boys did a lot better than expected! thanks, uncle eddie!

after their dental visitS, they got rewarded by taking another trip to DL!!

of course when it's his birthday, we celebrate all weekend long!! we ate, hung out and even played some golf! happy birthday, poops! to many, many more years!

Pines Springs Ranch-2009

our church went on a retreat to the fresh, clean mountains last month.  it was nice to be away from tv, internet, cell phone, etc. for 3 whole days!

(rewind) pumpkin patch field trip 2009

then i got to go with my J on another day with his green class. 

 

then we carved, well actually, i carved their pumpkins at home. even with the kit, it was pretty hard!

who does that???

one night, we were just hangin out at home. i get a text from jimmy, "can i come over?" i text back, "sure! come over."  honestly, i was thinking in my head..."uh... that's kinda random..." but anyway, jimmy comes over with the TRANSFORMERS dvd. N and J are obssesed with transformers and have been wanting to watch scenes from that movie, where they actually "transform" for the longest time. uncle jimmy somehow knew this and when he came in with the DVD the boys were going beserk! jimmy reassured me he saw the dvd so many times he knew exactly where the violent and inappropriate scenes were so he would be able to fast fwd and jump around to just the "transforming" scenes. so, we started watching. i thought he would just show them a little part in the beginning or something. but he sat there patiently and let them see the entire movie, the G-rated cut. the boys LOVED it! and then after the movie was done, he went out to his car and brought back 2 transformer toys for them!!! who does that???? the boys were in heaven! i felt guilty because, as parents, we have never even made our boys that happy!! thank you, uncle jimmy!! we love you!!

a bunch of girls got together and showered our dear friend, patti before her baby girl is born! can't wait to meet her!
